ILLUSTRATOR&
BIO
with hand-made illustrations that enrich personable storytelling.
As an illustrator& writer, I stimulate readers’ curiosity, and invite them to delight in a new perspective. Much of my inspiration is drawn from on-location sketching and non-fiction narratives and reporting, which I capture in lively, hand-drawn, cut, or painted images using both traditional and digital mediums.
I also enjoy teaching classes and making custom art, be it a birth announcement, location commission, community art piece, or steel business sign, even scribing to capture a live event!
With additional years’ experience in journalism and creative strategy, I can also provide the expertise to build your narrative concept into an engaging, fully-packaged content experience.
For the last four years I’ve been getting to know my charming local region of the Netherlands by plein-air sketching its daily comings-and-goings, and idiosyncratic features. I develop these sketches into hand cut paper artworks that underpin Riverland Arts Co., an art, gift & stationery brand with the spirit of the region. I'm currently offering a seasonal print club and online store, check out www.Riverlandarts.co
Lamb•Bunctious
Life is a playground for each year’s new lambs. It’s hilarious to watch the rambunctious newcomers racing across the pastures with each other. Mama sheep are important fixtures of the games—a safe ‘base’ during tag, a climbing toy to practice jumping on, and a shady snack break.Staart of Spring
The reappearance of breeding songbirds to our backyard signals the arrival of spring. One of our favorite guests is the Staartmees (Long-tailed tit). They have a curious and playful disposition, fluttering around our window frames and perching among the magnolia branches, bright eyes shining as if admiring the early spring blooms.Morning Crocuses
Just as the days start to lengthen, unassuming crocuses peek out between blades of frosty grass. I love to see them bundled up in their petals against the morning cold and unfurl later in the afternoon sun.Expand the sections to see cases

Sample art from a children's book submission package.
Emma Rose loves bugs. Here's a sample of what titles might be stacked in her room, along with how she spends the hours and likes to decorate her space.
